1 WELCOME! Welcome to Fort Worth! This year's annual KOA International Convention takes us into the heart of Texas. We are so excited that you've stampeded across North America to join us for an informative (and fun) week of Camaraderie and Yellow Pride! Our theme this year, Ride for the Brand, epitomizes the enthusiasm and loyalty our owners and managers bring to the KOA brand and their parks every day. Riding for the Brand means "Respecting the Land," "Trusting your People," and "Helping Neighbors." Our system continuously improves the sites and experiences found on their land. Whether it is increasing the number of patio sites, adding lodging, or adding recreation, you are maximizing your footprint, empowering your people to achieve goals, and increasing guest satisfaction through memorable experiences. Over the next several days, we invite you to leverage our time together to learn how we bring our operations and customers closer to the "Branding Fire." CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS • Mark Sanborn: Mark is a best-selling author who believes in inspiring others to reach their potential. Mark joins us on stage to deliver a keynote message from his latest book, The Potential Principle, focused on "How the Best Get Better." • First-Timers Welcome Reception: New to Convention? Please join us on Monday aernoon at 2:00 pm for an entertaining networking event with new franchisees and KOA leadership. • Workshops and Roundtables: Many of our workshops this year are progressive. For example, attend the Site Expansion workshop to familiarize yourself with the Site Grading tool and then attend Project Management to put your Site Grading into action. Or, dive into Top 5 Local Marketing Efforts and then follow up with Marketing Close to Home. Additionally, we listened to your feedback and added external experts to our workshop repertoire. • Lodging Open House: On the heels of our largest Lodging Open House in 2017, we are excited to bring an even more robust lineup of lodging options to this year's Expo. With new vendors like Lotus Belle and Freedom Yurt Cabins, as well as our Deluxe Cabin manufacturers, this is a can't-miss event. • Dueling Pianos: Our final night entertainment is guaranteed to keep everyone engaged. The talented team from Dueling Pianos International will be ready for your requests and will create an interactive experience to remember. Everyone from the KOA Home Office looks forward to mixing it up at the River Ranch Stockyards for our opening reception. Let's make our mark on Fort Worth this week and prove the Best can get Better – Ride for the Brand! Best, Darin Uselman Vice President, Franchise Services
