1 Welcome to Savannah! This year's annual convention takes us to the oldest city in Georgia and the home of Forrest Gump. Nestled on the Savannah River, the warmth of Savannah's Southern hospitality and Historic District will surely be the perfect backdrops for a week of Inspiration and Yellow Pride! Our theme this year, Together for Tomorrow, highlights where the KOA brand is headed. It speaks well to the unveiling of KOA's new Brand Architecture and Campground of the Future. It showcases our system efforts to complete our Brand Positioning and K2 Migration initiatives in 2020. Our theme describes core KOA beliefs that recognize the uniqueness of our campgrounds, the entrepreneurship instilled throughout our operations, and the collective strength we demonstrate because we work Together. Over the next several days, we invite you to strengthen your relationships with each other and the KOA Home Office staff. Let's challenge ourselves to use Savannah as a way to explore new ideas that make Tomorrow our reality. Convention Highlights • Kelly McDonald: A marketing and advertising specialist who is considered one of the nation's top experts in consumer trends, generational differences and leveraging the customer experience. She is the founder of McDonald Marketing, which has twice been named one of the "Top Ad Agencies in the U.S." by Advertising Age magazine. Kelly is the author of three bestselling books. • Peter Morici: A professor at the Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, and former Chief Economist at the U.S. International Trade Commission. He has lectured and offered executive programs at more than 100 institutions, including Columbia, Oxford University, and Harvard Business School. He has authored 18 books and has been seen on several media outlets. • First-Timers Welcome Reception: New to Convention? Please join us on Sunday aernoon at 2:30pm at the Westin Club Pavilion to network with other newbies, meet with members of KOA's Leadership team, and enjoy some memorable camaraderie. • Workshops and Roundtables: We incorporated much of your feedback into our workshop lineup. There will be sessions focused on Exceeding Guest Expectations and Increasing Revenue from Repeat Guests. Outside experts will facilitate workshops on Team Success, Hiring Practices for Today's Climate, and Retail Operations. Multiple K2 and Revenue Management sessions round out a little something for everyone. • Dad's Garage: Our final-night entertainment transforms people, communities, and perspectives through laughter. Dad's Garage engages audiences by producing innovative works that are locally, nationally, and internationally recognized for undeniable awesomeness. On behalf of the entire KOA Home Office team, we look forward to seeing everyone at our opening reception on the river's courtyard. As Forrest Gump says, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get." We have many surprises in store for you at this year's convention and we promise a week of fun, learning, and connection with old and new friends.
