Rent a Jeep at the campground and head for the hills to explore ghost towns and tour old mines. One of the most spectacular day trips takes you 31 miles along the winding Million Dollar Highway from Ouray to Silverton, both legendary mining towns. Telluride, the town of famous people and the legend of Butch Cassidy, is just up the road. Enjoy the gondola ride to the top as well as the history and resort area there. This KOA's eleva- tion is about 7,250 feet. Take a soak at one of the local, natural hot springs or work out the kinks in KOA's hot tub. You're only 15 minutes from Black Canyon of the Gun- nison National Park. Explore the area's countless recreational opportunities such as hiking, fshing, golf, river rafting, jeeping, mountain biking, rock climbing and skiing. Enjoy the area's dramatic mountain scenery including several "fourteeners" (14,000-foot peaks). Then return to the comfort of this quiet campground with 23 roomy acres just a few blocks from downtown Montrose. You'll appreciate the extra-roomy, grassy, shaded pull thru sites, playground, pavilion, swimming pool and hot tub (seasonal). This KOA also ofers year-round monthly sites with metered propane. This KOA is centrally located to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, San Isabel National Forest, Bishop Castle and downtown Pueblo. Enjoy the friendly family atmosphere, level pull thru sites, sparkling restrooms, 24/7 laundry room and free Wi-Fi/cable. Relax in the adults-only hot tub, take a stroll along the nature trail or rent a fre pit and sit under the stars—the night sky is spectacular.
