Spray the inside of the baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Spread the apples evenly in the bottom of the Dutch oven or baking dish. Add the pecan pieces sprinkling on top of the apples. Dot the apples with pieces of butter. Pour the cake batter evenly across the top of the apples. Bake at 350 degrees F or in the Dutch oven, place 8-10 briquettes underneath and 16 briquettes on top. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the center of the cake is fi rm. While the cobbler is baking, blend together the cream cheese topping ingredients until smooth. Remove the cobbler from the heat and serve immediately topped with a dollop of cream cheese topping. Serves 8-10 *To prepare with fresh apples, peel, core and slice 3-4 apples. Layer the apples in the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle with ½ cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
