Feedback from campers plays a huge role each year when we select our KOA Campground of the Year. A glimpse at their camper reviews shows that Deene and Denise love their campers, and their campers love them. Nearly every reviewer says they can't wait to come back, and nearly all compliment the great "over-the-top" service provided by the park's top-notch staff. Make the Uniontown, Pennsylvania KOA Holiday a part of your camping plans this summer. If you've been there before, perhaps it's time for another visit. Deene and Denise always have something new to show you. (See listing on page 188) In 2019, our campers gave Kampgrounds of America parks their highest overall guest service scores in our 58-year history. That's remarkable enough. But the big story behind that accomplishment is the tale of a small campground in the northwestern hills of South Carolina that has achieved the very best service scores in the entire KOA system for the past five years running! In fact, the Travelers Rest/N. Greenville KOA Holiday has always received the top score. For those who know the Tubb Family at Travelers Rest, those results are hardly a surprise. Jason and Rebecca, along with their children Jaden, Mattison, Mason, Jennifer and Aisley Grace, have an "attitude of service" that you just can't teach. Rebecca and Jason are quick to tell you that they weren't just looking for a good business opportunity when they found their campground five years ago. They wanted a family business that would both strengthen their family, and honor God through their service to their guests. What they found at the Travelers Rest/N. Greenville KOA Holiday was a pretty little park along picturesque, babbling Johnson Creek that was in need of a little TLC. The Tubb Family – all seven of them – got right to work. They initially upgraded the electrical system, added gravel, improved landscaping, upgraded Deluxe Cabins, and focused on the overall beautification of the park. They didn't stop there. They continued to transform the park, adding new KOA Patio ® Sites, remodeling bathrooms, redesigning the store and adding new WiFi. As nice as this campground is now, it's obvious that it's the Tubb's dedication to fantastic guest service that keeps their campers coming back. In the KOA system, they have proven to be the best at creating happy campers. When your travels take you to the Carolinas, stay with Jason, Rebecca and the kids. They'll show you exactly what record-breaking service looks like. KOA'S Best CAMPGROUNDS (See listing on page 183) Deene and Denise Yenchochic knew they had a lot of work to do when they purchased a non-KOA campground in Southwestern Pennsylvania in 2005. Back then, their "little park with potential" had a lot of problems to solve. Every section of the campground needed a lot of work, and they knew they had a long way to go to make the park match their vision. They rolled up their sleeves and brought on the backhoes. Fast forward eight years. By 2013, the Yenchochic's had accomplished many of their big projects, and the Uniontown KOA Holiday became part of the Kampgrounds of America system. Since then, it's been nothing but up for the beautiful park along the banks of the Youghiogheny River. In fact, the Yenchochic's dedication to constantly improving their campground, their staff and their guest service have led to the park being named KOA's 2020 Campground of the Year! This special place now more than lives up to the potential Deene and Denise always saw in it. In just the past few years, they've added a second swimming pool, a waterslide, several new KOA Patio ® Sites, teepees, Premium Tent Sites, and a new playground. They've also added to their food services, put in fiber optic internet, paved roads and added kayak rentals. For the more adventurous, the Great Allegheny Passage Biking and This is our second time back because the first time was so enjoyable. This location is very well kept. Plenty of staff to help and all very nice. Great location for scenic views and activities in the outdoors. We feel lucky to have this place close enough to come back to. Uniontown KOA Holiday Camper, Oct. 15, 2019 Perfect location on a babbling creek in the woods, yet close to downtown Greenville and the Brevard area of state parks and waterfalls. Clean bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff, games to play (basketball, huge outdoor checkers, cornhole, nature trails), dog friendly. Definitely will go back!! Travelers Rest/ N.
