33 Years of Hai and Healing In 1984, the KOA (Kampgrounds of America) Owners' Association created KOA Care Camps to provide opportunities for kids with cancer to attend oncology camps, where they can escape from their pain and suffering, receive their treatments and have lots of fun while being with other kids just like them. Since inception, KOA Care Camps has raised more than $12 million so kids can attend camp free of charge, with no additional cost to their already financially burdened families. While the number of kids diagnosed with cancer continues to grow, the cost of camp has risen to an average of $1,800/week per child, creating an ever-increasing demand for funding. In 2017, we provided financial support to 129 oncology camps, served more than 42,000 people and disbursed $1.15 million in operating and capital grants. Someday, canr wi be nothing more than a memory. Until that day, KOA Care Camps is here to bring hope, healing and outright fun for kids with canr and their famil. KOA CARE CAMPS 2
