Today's picture has shifted: household incomes among campers have settled closer to pre-pandemic patterns. Notably, the newest generation of campers entering the market in 2025 represents a lower household income segment than the overall demographic of campers, signaling a meaningful broadening of who's hitting the campground. In 2025, the rate of new campers closely matched 2024 levels, remaining well above 2019 levels prior to the pandemic-driven influx.. Since 2023, over 8.5 million households tried camping for the first time.
